It would be good to have a list of what everybody is working on or building. You can help make this a list by copying and pasting the Q&A's into a new reply and then adding yourself to the list.  Then if there are 10 replies, the 10th reply will contain a full list. Keep the notes short so the list is maintainable, you can also spin off a new thread for discussion.

Restoration of mid 80's Pioneer Flightstar Spyder single place. This is a nice looking U/L-style machine but was too heavy for Pt 103 at 280+lbs. My goal in this experiment (the most interesting part of EAA for me) is to get the weight down to 253.99 lbs or less. This example had been modified by previous owners with some disregard to GA ideas, so first thing I did after purchase was to render it non-flyable just in case I may have been tempted.

So far I have taken 16lbs of the engine (Rotax 503 - which may be too much hp for top speed limit). Another item is the throttle lever, 4oz off that - plus other do-dads on a diet. Every bit helps, right?

I am enjoying the exercise and if I fail, well - lets wait and see!

Note: I'm an armature first time builder who's brother thinks is crazy for taking on such a project. I'm need of any used "old school" instrument for the front and aft panels. Need a expert/amateur metal guy to help me with fuselage panel when that time comes.  Cell 419-345-0506

    Same here!

The activity comes and goes, we talk so often a lot of times it's easier to talk in person. But this is a good place to document things. Considering it takes years to build, this will still be a good thread 5 years from now!
