Here is where I am at with the hats. This link - 582 Hats, shows two different style hats with that same logo embroidered directly on. Pricing for 48+ is $7.50 per hat. The second option we could go with would be basically a recreation of the old hat. $7.98 per hat  with a minimum of 156 hats.  This would be the logo embroidered on a patch and then sewed to the hat which is how that old one that was hanging up was. I am leaning towards the first hat in the link as it is going to be the best option for pricing / lower order quantity and I like the design. I'm hoping those of you who are interested can give your opinion. We aim to please.  Regarding pricing, keep in mind that the 7.50 per hat does not include tax, shipping, or the initial charge for the artwork. Once we decide what we want to do we can get a final price from him. In the past it has been about $30 for shipping, and $30 for the artwork and of course tax is just based on how many we buy at 6.75% or whatever it is now. Also, keep in mind that the artwork charge is a one time fee - after the first time we can use it as much as we want without a charge. Artwork is in the third attachment.

I'm hoping many of you will chime in here and then we can come to a conclusion on what we will go with at the meeting Dec. 4th.

In addition to the hats, I think it would be really cool to make a shirt similar to the one below but with the artwork that is going on the hat (just outline the airplane) and 582 in red maybe.  I have the shirt linked below which is very similar so maybe I can bring it in to the next meeting and we can talk about that as well. They are very high quality shirts.

    Matt:

Nice job of gathering the information thus far…and for taking, “The Bull by the Horns” on this project.

I agree, the best way to handle the next step, would be for you to get all your figures together and make a short presentation at the membership meeting scheduled for December 4t.h.

At that time, you'll also be able to answer any questions regarding the artwork, embroidery and T-shirt idea.  We'll also be able to poll the group as to how we should proceed with ordering.

The first quote with the embroidery directly on the hat looks good to me, and an initial order of 48 hats sounds reasonable.   A 156 initial hat order (even though it is an exact duplication of the original) may be a bit aggressive.  These are the types of  things we will need to discuss at the meeting.

I think the more complete your information, the better.   Bringing an actual T-shirt to the meeting may be a good idea.

Again, thank you for your efforts, let me know if I may be of further assistance.

P.S. As to one of the previous posting by Dan Wiese regarding hats, mugs and other items that might be available in the "Chapter 582 Store", I have no idea where these items may be, I haven't seen any of it in the hangar.  Perhaps someone that reads this may be able to give us some additional information on these items.

Logo embroidered directly on the hat works for me.

I got pricing back from the embroider. It is going to be a total (tax included) of $428 for the 48 hats. That breaks down to $8.91 per hat. not a bad deal as far as I'm concerned!

Tom, when is our next meeting so that we can get the motion to buy these? I don't see anything on the calendar.
