For all 21 of you that took part in our annual election of officers, it should come as no surprise that I am your official President-Elect for 2021. I’m calling it a landslide victory - nearly unopposed.
So, another year has come and gone and the membership has spoken. Todd Shaw was unanimously re-elected for Vice President. Back for yet another round of service is Rick Rowland as Treasurer. The only race we had was for Secretary. Andre Abreu, your concession speech was very supportive of our process, but more importantly, it was brief. Glen Meiring is our returning Secretary for 2021. I don’t know what to tell you, Andy. Maybe next time just buy your votes, it’s easier than energizing your base.
In all seriousness, speaking as a fellow member, thank you for the kind and encouraging comments you left when voting. Thanks to you, EAA 582 is still here at KTDZ, building, teaching, sharing, and still getting the next generation into the sky. There are some big decisions coming that may take some real discussion, like Father’s Day weekend 2021. But for the most part, next year will be a continuation of the excellent programs, get togethers, and flying fun that it has been.
While there are many people to thank for their many contributions this past year, I am singling out one individual for special recognition.
