Malcom. One of the welders at my office is probably capable. What exactly do you need welded? General size?

Thanks for the reply. What I have is a pair of aluminum cyl heads to which I need to add a few more cooling fins. Thicknesses are 3/16 and 1/8 inch x approx 6" long. If you ding my cell 734-347-5705 I will respond with a photo showing what I have. Does the guy do this at his home?

I know that Sean Peters has a new TiG welder.  He would probably do it for cheap.  He is still learning how to use it though.  Not sure if he still a member of the club.  I can get you his number if he isn't.

Another thing you could try is this aluminum brazing rod I have at the shop.

Thanks Andy - would that rod be the famous rod we see on advertising where they use a propane torch and repair a Coke can? If so I have some - but I don't think brazing is what I could trust. I could be wrong but the vibes of the engine might crack 'brazing'.

I don't know how famous it is.  You do use a propane torch.  I tried it once for something or other and I was surprised how easy it was to work with.

Don't know how strong it is though.
