Builders Meetings Idea

First: I plan to schedule a builders meeting to see the progress on an Aventura amphibian that Matthew Curcio is working on.  He lives in Maumee.

I plan to schedule it for sometime in November.

Second: I would like to make a proposal.  If you didn't know, we have a Builder's Meeting Czar.  Why do we need Czars inside Chapter 582?   This particular Czar often losses steam about 2 or 3 months into the year.  I propose that we put the responsibility for scheduling the next builders meeting on the last person to host.  Who better to LEAD than the most recent host?  Its just an idea but if nobody objects, I am going to setup the November meeting and Matthew will be responsible for holding the meeting and schedule the next one for December.

    Any objections?

Also, does anyone have a list of names of known builders that Matthew can start contacting?  I'm sure if they are members, phone numbers and emails are easily looked up.

    Thanks

Here is a partial list of builders and their projects.  Anyone with more information about who is building should add that information to the list.

    Gary Obee - RV-9A

    Wally Rojem - RV-8

    Denny Lawrence - Glastar

    Dan Wiese - BK-1

    Brian Wiese - BK-1

    George Willford - Waco Restoration

                            - Piper Supercruiser Restoration

    Jim Davis - Bearcat?

    Ron Smolinski - KR-2

    Bill Hirzel - N3N

    Mike Whitescarver - RV-8A

    TABLSACI - Flair

    Karl Kazmierski - RV-7

I know I am missing some, maybe many projects.  All we need to do is start calling again and getting them lined up.  Second Wednesday of each month around 7 pm.

Please add your name or the name of anyone else you may know in the chapter that is building, even if they haven't touched their project for a while.

    Regards,

    Mike Whitescarver

    Matt:

It's easy, peesy.  Let me see if I can help.

From the home page, in the black navigation bar, click on "Chapter Forms".  From the drop down bar choose "Event Host Form".

Fill out the form as requested, indicating you will be hosting a "Builders Meeting" and hit the submit button.  When I receive your submission, I will take care of getting it posted on the website.

Please make sure you give me a brief description of your aircraft project so I'll have all the information necessary to generate a meaty posting.

As for the actual meeting, well the details are up to you.   The idea of a Builders Meeting is two fold.  First, it to allow you to showcase your project and secondly, it allows others to view your production.  Questions will be asked, ideas shared and solutions for problems offered... all for the price of a few snacks and beverages.

Builders Meeting are fun, informative and enlightening.  You will benefit greatly from the knowledge held by your 582 brothers and sisters.

    Tom

Oh, and one more thing you may want to remember.  The amount of insight offered at your meeting will be in direct proportion to the quality of snacks and beverages you provide...

    I'm just say'en!

    Nice list Mike.

I'd like to add Bill Tabbert to the list of current projects. He is in the final stages of a Volmer Amphibian.
