I'm trying to figure out when is a good time to stop by the hangar?  I'd like to get involved in something or just hang out for a few hours here and there.  I don't have a  a lot of time but I would like to do something once a week or so.

I scan the web site periodically, but I always seem to miss the latest event.

So, what's the best way to know when something is happening at the hangar and when is a good time to stop by?

Disclaimer: I've probably missed the most obvious answer to my own question.  At the grocery store, by the time I ask for help, the thing I'm looking for is right in front of me.  :)

    Thanks for the help!

There is s weekly flier that Joe Deaton send out email joedeaton@laibe.com and ask him to add your name to the list. He does a pretty good job keeping track of all the events. I find as much value from informal gatherings as formal though. I have  an excuse to be there a lot so that comes easier for me. I will be at the hangar tonight from 5-10 and all day Sat. and Sunday. I'm going to be working on the last things to ensure my project is ready for inspection Monday morning. I'm looking for as many people who want to look over the airplane and find any issue.

I'm also going to be working with a couple of guys who are interested in paramotoring on ground handling a paraglider Saturday and hopefully I can fly mine a bit at some point this weekend. Saturday the plan as of late as I have heard is to do some glider flying. We can always use a hand with that. Sunday night I'm planning to have a hot air balloon lesson with my friend and 582 member Jake Tyler. If you would be interested in driving the chase vehicle we can always use a hand with ground crew.

In short the weather is going to be beautiful all weekend. People will be around and aircraft will be flown and built. Come out and make yourself at home. I'm sure whenever you make it out people will be there and you'll have a good time and likely learn some things.

    Hi, Glen

Right now, other than the regularly scheduled membership meeting on the fourth Thursday of the month, and the private pilot ground school currently in progress, the goings on at the hangar are pretty random.  It's just the luck of the draw whether someone will be there.  However, in June we'll be resuming "Hangin' at the Hangar", which happens every Friday during the summer flying season.  It's just a cookout/potluck get together.  We do anything from just eating and socializing to maybe working on some kind of airplane project.  Whatever suits the fancy of whoever happens to be there.  It's a good way of getting to know people and finding out what's going on.  Hope this helps.

Thanks for the feedback guys.  I just recently got on Joe's weekly email.  That will be good.

Looks like Matt will be around this weekend.  I'll drop in and see what's happening.

Anyone else ... maybe post on this forum from time-to-time if something is going on.
