Chapter 582 turns it's thoughts and sympathy to long time member Luther Piel on the loss of his beloved wife Vilot.

Violet Bricher-Piel, 82, of Coral Springs, FL. passed away Saturday evening. She was born to the late Albert and Hildi Hydeen, Jan. 6, 1932, in Kandiyohi, MN. Vi graduated from Willmar High School and Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing. She married the late John P. Bricher in 1964, and was married for 34 years until his death. Vi married again in 2006 to Luther A. Piel. Vi was a CRNA at Holy Cross Hospital for most of her career in addition to being a loving caregiver to family and friends. Vi was an active member of All Saints Lutheran Church in Tamarac where she served in the parish nurse ministry. Vi is survived by her husband, Luther Piel of Tamarac, FL., her brother, Harold Hydeen of Kandiyohi, MN., and two children: John A. Bricher (Tania) of FL. and Kristina Thompson of NC. She is also survived by four grandchildren, two cousins, and many friends who love her. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to BSF (Bible Study Fellowship).

I had the good fortune of meeting Violet only one time.  She was with Luther while he was performing maintenance for one of his friends at the airport.  He introduced me and I sat and talked to her for a short time.
She struck me as a very kind and caring person with a quit wit and pleasant personality.  I regret that that meeting was the only time our paths crossed.  I remember thinking that Luther was a lucky man as I walked away.
I am sadden at your loss and you are in my thought Luther.
